The drive to Saskatoon
As you can probably guess, there was never meant to be a fourth day. We had expected to be
back at our desks by this time Monday.
We got up at 6:45 and packed up the wet tents. We drove to the gas station @ the intersection
of 155+165 and filled up. During the drive to Battleford the storm came in: high winds and
driving rain. In North Battleford we scurried into MacDonald's for breakfast, and then back out
onto the road. The canoes stayed tied on in spite of the buffetting of the wind. Visibility was poor
but we made it in to Saskatoon, and I was back at work for 1 pm, pretending that I was just
back from lunch.
