Friday, June 15: (2 hours driving)
At noon, Brent, Mike and I took off to Ebb's to pick up the rental, a 16 foot MadRiver
Explorer. They also offered Mike a spray cover, and he gleefully accepted. Some prophetic
advice was also given to Mike at this time: "Keep the rounded side down."
Sandy & Keiran and I drove up to Emma Lake, left around 7 pm. We went to Vietnamese
restaurant in PA. Okay, but won't bother doing that again!
The rest of the gang had to wait until Howard's plane arrived, expected sometime around 9pm,
actually arrived around 10:30. They arrived at Emma around 12:30 am, wine was drunk, and we
all went quietly to bed. Talking to Howard, we realized that we hadn't brought appropriate food.
Howard won't eat pork, and by some quirk of fate, the only meat we had brought was bacon,
pork kabobs and hard salami with pork in it! No-one knows what type of meat, if any, was
actually in the hotdogs...
Gillian felt we should have bacon every morning for energy. Our group doesn't tend to do much
for breakfast, and she wasn't looking forward to eating what we had brought. So, she brought
along bacon, and had volunteered to cook it every morning.
On to the next day!
