This year I managed to convince some friends that they really ought to try this out:
All of them former Saskatchewan gymnasts, even Gord Hopper, (but this one at least an experienced
paddler) were going to make this trip a bundle of fun. Once again we stayed at CanoeMeadows.

Aaron searches for food.
The morning intro at the bottom of the technical course was the usual mayhem. People swimming all
over the place.

Introducing beginners to whitewater at the bottom of the technical course

Just 'cuz you are in an eddy doesn't mean you are safe from Kelly!
As always we went up to WindowMaker to continue everyone's introduction to whitewater.

An unbelievable crowd in the pool below WindowMaker.

Another fun swoosh down WidowMaker
We hung around WidowMaker for awhile, waiting for some of our sub-groups to make their
way on down the river. Really crowded. Then an easy paddle down to Good Humour, where
we ran into a huge crowd again. So we joined it! After much psyching up, Doug ran down
through the hole.

Actually, this could be Doug or Aaron. I can't tell them apart because they both being big boys
were given the big klunker white kayaks. Chris went next. I am sure he started out intending to
go through the white water, but his body wouldn't let him, and at the last moment he veered off,
and skirted the edge!

Chris skirts certain disaster!
By this time, my second year kayaking, I was ready to play in this hole. I was paddling a
Hurricane, which is not a great boat for enders, so tried side-surfing in the hole... and was
stunned at the violence down in there.

Entering Good Humour for some side-surfing.

Ooops, not leaning downstream enough!

Swapping end for end in the hole... not on purpose!
Gord played and watched amused. Sandy loved his hair sticking out through his helmet.

Gord Hopper
Then on down to the technical course. Lots of little adventures along the way.

This is me, surfing on the "Green Tongue of Death"
Then eat, paddle some more and repeat until evening. Then take a run up to the hot tub

Warren, Chris, Sandy, Doug, Cindy, ?, Gord, Aaron, ?
Here is the whole gang!

Another successful outing. Good weather, and everyone ready for more!
