Seasons Greetings 2006

Well, we started our annual Xmas letter last December and now we may even finish it.

Life is good!   And busy!  The biggest change in our daily life (which is not known for big changes) was getting “HooDoo”,  a chocolate Labradoodle ,in September of '05.  On the positive side, he is a very smart, gentle dog who is a lot of fun .  On the less positive side, he dutifully brings in mud and “treasures”, and leaves some very suspicious brown, wiry, curly hair all over the house...  Once again, Sandy has become one with the vacuum.

Keiran is now in Grade 3.  He really likes school, for which we are grateful. He is a confident kid and was one of only five boys in a 60 member school junior choir.  This fits in well with his future plans of becoming a rock star.  He also wanted to try Tae Kwon Do this year, so he's doing that along with soccer and gymnastics.  The deal was he wasn't allowed to whine about being too busy, and so far so good..

We have had a chance to do a few things over the past year.  The three of us went skiing all by ourselves in Banff and Lake Louise in March.  As we usually go with a big group, this was a new experience.  I think skiing is an awesome family holiday.  It was on this same trip that Keiran decided expensive steak was his new favorite restaurant dinner.  Sigh.

Warren (and Keiran and I) celebrated his birthday in Florida with his parents.  Good of them to move to Florida, don't you think?  We really enjoyed the trip and did some of the theme parks, but also had a chance to take in a bit of nature going kayaking in the springs (no gators spotted this year) and W and K got to go snorkeling with the manatees.

May came and Sandy went to a conference in Vegas on SCI.  The conference was excellent as was the nightlife and the shows.  My friend Karin always says you can sleep when your dead.

This summer Sask. had beautiful weather and for the first time in 3 years we weren't totally soggy.  We had the chance to go hiking in YoHo National Park with friends and a significant chunk of Warren's family.  Lake O'Hara was perfect for our eclectic group.

After getting back from that, we headed to Montreal to attend a reunion of Warren's classmates from, can you believe it, junior high. After that, I remember a lot of  great sights, a lot of states and a lot driving.

We have been in and around Saskatoon since then, and just celebrated Xmas with Sandy's family and plan to do New Years at Emma Lake.  Should be a gas.
