Keiran is in Kelowna and we thought we should take advantage of the fact to try out skiing at Big White. Since both Keiran and Sandy are working, we would be skiing Saturday and Sunday. Sandy flew late Friday and late Sunday. No work hours missed.
The Drive
I spent ALL of Friday driving (15+ hours, 3 am to 5 pm, with 2 hour time zone change). And I spent another 15 hours driving on Monday, leaving at 5 am, arriving in Saskatoon at 9:30, losing 2 hours due to the time change. Drive was enjoyable, lots of things to see and good audio books. Construction around Golden wasn’t a problem, and the typical bad weather around Roger’s Pass only slowed me down a little bit.
Skiing Big White
The forecast was not good, but it was also wrong. Saturday was gorgeous. Sunday was also pretty darn good, except for the dense cloud/fog at the top, and the mostly flat light which hid the shape of the snow under our skis.
Snowed In Comedy Show and Downtown Kelowna
Just to make sure that we had NO time to relax, Sandy had also gotten us tickets to the Snowed In comedy show. Whenever possible, we try to attend this travelling gig, and it always been great. And we ate in bars.
