Craig and Barry invited us to join them in Miramonti in October. Craig and Barry are old hands at Miramonti, which is an exquisite resort in the Italian Alps, just across the border from Austria and Germany. This was to be a real quick in and out vacation, with just 5 nights at Miramonti. The rest of the 11 day absence would be spent traveling and on day visits as we passed through.
Our Schedule
- Thursday 2022-10-06: Fly out a day early to Calgary because of last minute WestJet flight changes.
- Friday 2022-10-07: Arrive Toronto early in the morning and get 4 hours of sleep, back to the airport, meet up with Craig and Barry and border our flight to Zurich… Yes, another flight change.
- Saturday 2022-10-08: Arrive Zurich and get a train to Munich. Then a tram ride and check in to the Westin Grand Munich, which is Craig’s standard accommodation when flying for Air Canada. A walk in the rain and an Italian dinner across the street at Il Galeone.
- Sunday 2022-10-09: Tram downtown and pick up rental car and drive to Miramonti. Hot tubs and dinner.
- Monday 2022-10-10: Miramonti: Workout, breakbast, waterfall walk, dessert treats, hot tubs and fancy dinner.
- Tuesday 2022-10-11: Miramonti: Breakfast, Falzeben walk, cowbells, alpine slide, goulash, hot tubs, night walk for pizza
- Wednesday 2022-10-12: Miramonti: Workout, breakfast, drive to Merano shopping, Scrabble and dinner
- Thursday 2022-10-13: Miramonti: drive to closed vineyard in Meltina, walk the Hochsulfen trail, Canasta and desserts, sauna and hot tub, fancy dinner at night
- Friday 2022-10-14: Miramonti: breakfast then drive to Munich and the Westin Grand. Tram ride and wienerschnitzel dinner at Andy’s Krablergarten
- Saturday 2022-10-15: Westin workout and breakfast, followed by Munich walking tour. Tram ride downtown and Indian dinner at Madam Chutney with Alex, Ashun and ???
- Sunday 2022-10-16: Taxi to Munich airport, fly to Toronto, drive to Stratford, house tour and nachos.
- Monday 2022-10-17: Pick up Hunter, walk around Stratford, drive to Toronto airport, fly to Calgary then Saskatoon. Home after midnight.
