Puerto Vallarta 2022: Snorkeling Boat Trip

Craig and Barry arranged a private boat trip for us to go snorkeling and have a picnic. This turned out to be an excellent way to see Los Arcos and other beach type things. Our boat left from the Los Muertos pier right by our hotel.

Los Arcos was impressive, but as is typical for PV, not great for snorkeling. We swam in circles for a while, then swam back to where we had left the boat. No boat! Our driver had backed off a couple of hundred feet to leave room for other boats and came speeding back. No actual delay because he was there as soon as we crossed the park boundary rope.

Next we headed farther south to Majahuitas for better snorkeling. Truth be said, it wasn’t much better, but the trip was nice and it was fun to see something a little different. We didn’t last long in the water, as we all found ourselves getting cold. Next time, I am bringing a shortie wet suit at least.

Las Animas Beach was our next destination. We had already been there once as it was the final destination for our beach/jungle hike. This time we set up on some recliners that were perfectly set up to be occasionally washed by a wave. Drinks and sun for everyone.

On the way back to Los Muertos, our driver noticed some humpback whales making a fuss about a kilometer away. We zoomed over (not too close) and watched a mother and baby tail slapping for at least 15 minutes. Wonderful to see.
