Lots of sailing under both spinnakers. Lots of rocking and rolling and surfing. I even got a chance to go up the mast to free up some tangled lines! We practiced with both the symmetrical and asymmetrical spinnakers. And had a bit of excitement when the symmetrical one hour-glassed on us. Thankfully, we recovered it without any damage.
The day started with an early morning hike on Keats. Then lots of downwind sailing. We pulled into Lasqueti and dropped anchor in the first bay near the hotel. The anchor failed to find a good purchase on the rocky bottom, so we motored off to another location. This time the mud was solid and the right depth. We then used the dingy to travel to the Lasqueti Hotel and bar for dinner. A quick dip in the bay to refresh, and then we stayed at the bar until closing. It was very dark when we returned to Tarka in the wee hours.
- The next day, sailing across the channel to French Creek, is HERE.
