We had a lot of debris left over from the collapse (under snow load) of our metal gazebo last winter. The first debate was whether or not to attempt to rebuild it with a new, stronger wood frame. We decided against this because the metal was pretty darn crumpled and I figured that it would never look good. So we purchased a replacement gazebo, and were left with a bunch of metal bits. When the snow melted a bit, we disassembled it.
In June, I decided that it was worth trying to re-use the roof panels. I had been able to make them all straight enough to work, and most of the folds/breakage seemed to have occurred along the seems. The metal framework was total junk. I made some preliminary plans, and strapped a bunch of 2x4s on to the top of the Murano and we delivered the wood to Emma. Then, I few days later, Keiran and I drove up and spent two hard days designing, planning, building, moving and eventually raising a 500 lb. behemoth on to the top of the wood shed.
Two long days of work and we were done. Second day had a lot of rain in the forecast, and as predicted, it rolled in in the afternoon. But the hot tub and sunset were a nice wrap up.
